David fell in love with Benton County through annual trips to Beaver Lake, and decided to make it his home in 2022.  

David was inspired to run for state representative by seeing his former high school through his son’s eyes. When David was growing up, he loved the exploratory parts of his public education, and he got to try many different things like band, theater, shop, and auto-tech. When his son attended the same high school, David discovered the few opportunities left were shadows of what they had been 20 years earlier. His son’s experience in school was dominated by the intensive focus on standardized testing that now affects teacher’s lesson plans throughout the entire school year.

A practicing engineer for 25 years, David is skilled at finding solutions to complex problems with constrained resources. Projects must be completed on time, within budgets, and conform to regulations. David is practiced at listening to others and incorporating their needs and life experiences into his solutions. David will bring this skillset to work for Benton County and to make real change in the community.
